Alt Text on LinkedIn

Adding Alt Text on Desktop

How to add alt text on the desktop version of LinkedIn:

  1. After uploading an image, click the ALT button below the image.
  2. Write alt text in the provided field on the next screen.
  3. Click Add.

Editing Alt Text on Desktop

How to edit alt text on the desktop version of LinkedIn:

  1. Select the post that needs to have its alt text updated.
  2. In the expanded post view, click the three dots in the upper right corner of the post.
  3. Select Edit Post from the menu of options that appears.
  4. On the next screen, click the Edit button in the upper right corner of the image.
  5. Edit the image's alt text.
  6. Click Save and finishing any remaining edits to the post.

Viewing Alt Text on Desktop

LinkedIn does not currently have a setting that allows users to view a published post's alt text.

Adding Alt Text on Mobile

How to add alt text on the mobile version of LinkedIn:

  1. After uploading an image, click the ALT button below the image.
  2. Write alt text in the provided field on the next screen.
  3. Click Done.

Editing Alt Text on Mobile

It is not currently possible to edit alt text in the LinkedIn mobile app after publishing a post. If an image's alt text needs to be updated, it will need to be edited through the desktop version of the platform.

Viewing Alt Text on Mobile

LinkedIn does not currently have a setting that allows users to view a published post's alt text.
